Extra Curricular Activities
Beyond the Curriculum . . . . . . .
La Retraite has a vast range of opportunities for extra-curricular activity.
- Our Music School allows many young people to develop their talents through playing an orchestral instrument. We offer scholarships to talented students allowing them to have their musical tuition paid for. We also have a choir which sings with professionals from the Bach Choir for our annual Spring Concert – an event which is very special to La Retraite
- Our Gospel Choir is also hugely popular with students and they have reached a standard so high that they are often asked to perform around London
- We often achieve very highly in public-speaking competitions: La Retraite has a tradition of girls who are strong, articulate and able to express themselves on subjects which they care deeply about. Our students are members of the model United Nations
- We have excellent standards in Drama and put on two student productions every year
- We have some excellent sportswomen and athletes amongst our students and strongly encourage competitive sport
- We have a prayer group which meets regularly
- We offer many school visits and residential ?journeys, often abroad, covering a range of different curricular areas
- We have frequent visits to the theatre, political and sporting occasions in London
