CYCLES International Survey: Lambeth
Researchers from the Centre for the Understanding of Sustainable Prosperity (CUSP) at the University of Surrey (UK) are conducting a 15 minutes survey on the everyday urban experiences of young people aged 12-24. This survey is part of an international research project, Children and Youth in Cities: Lifestyles Evaluation and Sustainability which seeks to produce findings for city planners, local authorities, community groups and businesses who are interested in improving the quality of life for young people in their cities. More information about the project can be accessed here: https://www.cusp.ac.uk/themes/s1/cycles/
Currently CUSP researchers are seeking young people in the age group 12-15 and living in Lambeth to complete the survey online. La Retraite has kindly agreed to contact you to see if you would consent to your child taking part and to passing this information on to them. Please discuss this opportunity with your child. If you are interested in the project and would like to allow your child to participate, please complete the Parents/Guardians Consent Form linked here.
If you have multiple eligible children who you would like to consent for, please let the researchers know by indicating on the consent form the names of the children you are consenting for. Before you decide whether you are happy for your child(ren) to take part, please read the attached Parents/Guardians Information Sheet and email/call the research team if you have any questions.
You will be asked for your email on the consent form. Once you have submitted your completed consent form, the researchers will email you a survey link that you can pass on to your child for them to complete. If you have consented for multiple children, they will email you separate survey links for each child. Your child(ren) is/are under no obligation to take part, even if you have consented to their participation. Your child(ren)’s consent for participating will be sought online at the start of the survey.
Sixth Form Reports, Mocks and UCAS
Dear Parent/ Guardian
I hope you are all doing well during these difficult times. I am writing to let you know that the Sixth Form are now able to access their half-term report via the SIMS Parent App. If you are struggling to access the SIMS Parent App please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
I have been so impressed with the progress the Sixth Form have made over the last half term and how committed they are to their studies. They conduct themselves in a very professional manner and are excellent role models for the lower school. The Sixth Form are very aspirational and many Year 13 have already completed their UCAS application form and have received offers for universities. The final deadline for Year 13 UCAS applications is Friday 20th November.
Year 12 will start to look at preparing for Universities and Apprenticeships in January. They should be currently undertaking a volunteering placement as part of their ASDAN COPE Award and in the summer term, they will complete a 2 weeks' work experience (the T Level students will complete 45 days).
All of the Sixth Form will complete mock exams beginning 30th November to 11th December. These examinations are extremely important as teacher assessment may form part of students final grades. Attached is a copy of the mock timetable. During the mock period, Sixth Form will attend as normal. If students are not sitting an exam they will be revising with their teachers. Please ensure your daughter/son is now revising regularly at home.
Please check our social media and website to keep up to date with what is happening in the Sixth Form. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries.
