Exam Results & Performance Tables

This year has been defined by uncertainty and adversity and impacted our students’ lives in many ways. Although students at the La Retraite Sixth Form are not ending their school journey as they had hoped to, we are immensely proud of their achievements and the determination, resilience and positivity displayed.

Despite challenges faced, this has not held back students’ excellent achievements, ambitious plans for the future and inspiring success stories, with approximately 95% of students gaining entry at prestigious universities across the country.

Our 2020 cohort are celebrating excellent results, building upon our long-standing history of success for which we are so well known. The results are a testament to students’ strong work ethic, dedication and hard work, alongside the passion and commitment of staff. Highlights of the examination results include:

  • 84% of GCSE students achieving English & Mathematics at Grade 4 and above
  • 52% of GCSE students achieving EBacc with English & Mathematics Grade 4 and above

We pride ourselves on our unique Sixth Form offer, which equips every student with the experiences, knowledge and attributes to succeed in an ever-changing and ever-advancing world, and embark upon their chosen future pathway. Every student at the LR6 benefits from enriching experiences, the highest standards of education, bespoke support throughout their time with us and exposure to life beyond school, through an extensive careers programme.

Alongside positive results across the board, there have been incredible individual performances in a variety of subjects and successful destinations secured, including:

  • Asia Roberts:  3 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s GCSEs
  • Bianca Da Cruz: Achieved 8 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s GCSEs
  • Roxanne Crossland: 3 Grade 9s and 5 Grade 8s GCSEs

Director of Sixth Form, Ruth Coyle was delighted to see so many students reach their chosen destinations: “The achievements of our students have come as a direct result and reward of their passion, dedication, adaptability and grit. We work incredibly hard to provide a learning environment that inspires every learner, where they prosper and cement the foundations for their future success. Our unique Sixth Form provides every student with the opportunity to explore their career aspirations and ambitions for the future and supports them every step of the way, and I congratulate every one of them for rising to the challenge, achieving outstanding results and look forward to welcoming you back as part of our alumni”.

Dominic Malins, Headteacher has said: “Students’ inspiring results and their drive to succeed embodies our promise to students: to enable them to become successful, resilient learners and make outstanding achievements through a culture of high standards and excellence for all, within our inclusive Catholic community”. View our school's 2019 performance on the Department for Education (DfE) website.
