Python Coding with Imperial College, London
Posted on: 27th Nov 2020Our new Coding club has taken off to a cracking start this term. Through virtual sessions, Scholarship students have learned about rich media through programming, analysing live data and creating interactive maps in code. Currently, students are working on project ‘Py-stagram’, recreating Instagram with Python Code, giving them a greater understanding of how images are represented and stored in computers. At the end of the project, students will have created their very own Instagram-style filters to be used on their own photos.
Year 11 Scholarship student Glenda has said: “The coding sessions have been going very well so far, and I've enjoyed exploring how to code filters onto images using Python. It was really interesting to learn how to add in the features like swirls, changing the contrast and rotation.”
