A Few Final Words for 2020 from Our ChaplainPosted on: 16th Dec 2020
This year was a challenging year in many ways. I would like to especially remember two of our students Leanne and Aaliyah who passed away recently. Let us keep their families in our prayers.
Even though it was a challenging year, the staff worked very hard to make sure that the students received the best. Let us continue to work and do all that we can to help others.
This Year, Pope Francis recalls the 150th anniversary of the declaration of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. To mark the occasion, the Holy Father has proclaimed a “Year of Saint Joseph” from 8th December 2020 to 8th December 2021.
The Holy Father wrote ‘Patris corde’ (Apostolic Letter) against the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic, which, he says, has helped us see more clearly the importance of “ordinary” people who, though far from the limelight, exercise patience and offer hope every day. In this, they resemble Saint Joseph, “the man who goes unnoticed, a daily, discreet and hidden presence,” who nonetheless played “an incomparable role in the history of salvation.” Let us, like St Joseph, continue to work and help each other.
I would like to end by wishing you a very happy Christmas and a happy New Year. May this year be a year of love, joy and happiness.
